ELECTIVE COURSES A.Y. 2026-2027
according to the DBE study plan, 4 CFU of Student’s elective courses are included in each academic year.
Elective activities are intended to give students the opportunity to broaden their academic experience, develop additional skills and interests, and personalise their study path through interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Students may obtain these credits by attending courses already included in the study plans of other Degree Programmes offered by the Department of Architecture (DiARC) or by other Departments of the University of Naples Federico II. Students may also propose other courses independently, provided that they are consistent with their educational objectives and are approved in advance by the DBE Programme Coordinator.
To support you in choosing the activities that best match your interests and educational goals, we are providing the following documents:
Attachment 1 – Suggested Elective Courses A list of courses specifically recommended for DBE students, from the DiARC Department of Architecture didactic offer, organised by semester and including, where available, course code, Degree Programme, reference teacher, timetable and the maximum number of CFU that may be recognised as elective activity.
Attachment 2 – General Course Information Sheets A single English-language dossier containing general information for each suggested course, including its educational context, learning objectives, main topics, prerequisites and assessment information, where available. The dossier brings together courses offered within ARCHER Architecture and Heritage Master of Science , CODE Design per la Comunità / Community Design Bachelor Degree , and Scienze dell’Architettura Bachelor Degree.
Please note that the courses included in Attachment 1 are suggested options only and are not compulsory. You are encouraged to choose the elective activities that best correspond to your individual educational interests, subject to the approval procedures indicated above.
Attendance of elective activities is not compulsory.
Language of instruction Please also pay attention to the language in which the selected course
is taught.
Courses offered within Master’s Degree Programmes in Architecture are taught entirely in English. Courses offered within Bachelor’s Degree Programmes are normally taught in Italian. However, lecturers are available to support international and English-speaking students through individual meetings and specific arrangements in English.
For courses taught in Italian, students are therefore strongly encouraged to contact the reference teacher before attending the course, both to discuss the support available in English and, where necessary, to agree on a programme corresponding to the 4 CFU to be recognised as Student’s Choice Electives.
Please also remember that timetables and classroom information may be updated during the academic year. For this reason, before attending a course, always check the current timetable and, when appropriate,contact the reference teacher directly.
